Lainey Wilson's People's Choice Awards Medley Includes "Country's Cool Again"

After winning Best Country Album at the Grammy Awards earlier this month, Lainey Wilson performed "Country's Cool Again," her new single released on Friday.

This year, she's nominated for Female Artist and Female Country Artist, and she won following her performance.

In front of a ranch-like backdrop, she mixed her new song with "Things a Man Oughta Know," "Heart Like a Truck," and "Watermelon Moonshine."

"['Country's Cool Again'] is an ode to my upbringing and my journey in this industry – where I have been and where I am now," Wilson stated of the song.

"I'm feeling all the love from Country music fans, and I can't wait to hear everyone singing this song back to me while we're out on the road this year."

Pop musicians like Beyoncé, whose "Texas Hold ‘Em" reached Billboard's Country Airplay list last week, and Lana Del Rey embrace country music.

Wilson performed, as will Kylie Minogue and Lenny Kravitz at Sunday's ceremony.

This year's event took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, and Simu Liu

who is nominated for Movie Performance of the Year for his role as one of the Kens in Barbie

served as the host. The winners of the awards are determined by the votes of the general public.
