Metro Phoenix is one of the best sports cities in the US. See how it stacks up

 According to a recent Sports Business Journal analysis, the Phoenix area is among the top 10 destinations to conduct sports business.For Us!' Terry Fontenot.

 Numerous data criteria were considered in the ranking, such as the number of modern venues, media partnerships, important vendors, and intangibles like safety, hospitality, and entertainment. 

 Phoenix, which came in just behind Los Angeles and Las Vegas, was acknowledged as one of the top sports markets in the Western area and made it into the top 10.

 The report emphasized the Valley's accessibility and compactness, pointing out that 14 professional sports stadiums are conveniently located within an hour's drive. 

 Executives that SBJ spoke with highlighted the region's vibrant casual golfing culture.

 There are 26 prominent sporting venues in the Phoenix area, including a stadium hosting the Super Bowl and a PGA Tour stop.

 Regular events held in Metro Phoenix include the ATP Arizona Tennis Classic and the NASCAR United Rentals Work United 500.

 There are still a ton of magnificent stadiums in the Valley to come.

 The city has spent billions of dollars on new facilities over the past ten years, such as Mesa's Legacy Sports Complex (originally Bell Bank Park).

 Cochise County farmers have to fight with bureaucracy in order to obtain rights to groundwater.
