Outlander Prequel 'Blood of My Blood' Jeremy Irvine, Jamie Roy, Hermione Corfield, and Harriet Slater

Starz just cast four crucial characters in its upcoming "Outlander" prequel, "Blood of My Blood."

Jamie Roy ("Condor's Nest," "Flowers and Honey"), Hermione Corfield eremy Irvine  the project.

Production on the 10-episode series has begun. Filming will occur in Scotland.

Starz has revealed the series will follow Jamie and Claire's parents, the original series' primary protagonists and couple.

"Outlander: Blood of My Blood" will follow Jamie's parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in WWI England. 

Slater plays Ellen MacKenzie and Roy plays Brian Fraser on Jamie's side.

 Irvine plays Henry Beauchamp and Corfield plays Julia Moriston for Claire.

Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner and executive producer of "Outlander" and "Blood of My Blood," said, "We're thrilled to be telling the stories of these two couples," press release. 

Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, and Roberts will executive produce the prequel. 

Moore and Davis created "Outlander" for television under Tall Ship Productions.
