Outlander prequel starts filming, casts Jamie and Claire's parent

Production on the prequel series to their popular historical drama, Outlander:  

Blood of My Blood, has officially begun in Scotland. Along with the announcement of its core cast, the network revealed that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) had four actors playing their parents.  

.Jamie Roy (Condor's Nest) will play Jamie's father, Brian Fraser, while Harriet Slater (Pennyworth) will play Jamie's mother Ellen Mackenzie.   

In the eighteenth century Scottish drama, Slater will portray Ellen MacKenzie, while Roy will portray Brian Fraser. 

Their romance will take place in Scotland in the eighteenth century, before the events of Outlander.  

Furthermore, as a fresh addition to the previously revealed series, the prequel will also chronicle Claire's parents' love story in England during World War I.  

Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) and Hermione Corfield (The Road Dance) will play Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp,  

expressed his excitement in narrating the story of these two couples in a statement. "
